Transatlantic Academic Award 2023

The Politecnico awarded by the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy

The American Chamber of Commerce in Italy awarded the Politecnico di Milano the Transatlantic Academic Award for the opening of Fellows of Politecnico di Milano US (FPM US), a non-profit organisation established to promote Politecnico di Milano projects and support its students in the United States, relying on one of its greatest assets: its alumni, who are actively involved in internationalisation, educational innovation, technology transfer, research and financial support for projects and scholarships.
The goal of FPM.US., the Politecnico di Milano Foundation in the USA, is to implement and strengthen existing ties between companies, institutions and alumni in Italy and the USA, building a bridge made of creativity, innovation and excellence.

The award was presented on the occasion of the 17th edition of the "Transatlantic Award Gala Dinner" to Ilaria Valente, Vice Rector for International Affairs of the Politecnico di Milano. During the ceremony, she recalled the fundamental role of FPM.US in "promoting overseas the Politecnico's vision, which combines scientific and technological innovation with people-centred design and creativity, respecting values such as sustainability, diversity and equity".

The Transatlantic Academic Award is a special prize awarded this year to Italian universities undertaking an accreditation process in the American market. In addition to Politecnico, Università Bocconi and LUISS Guido Carli received recognition as well.
