Kick-off meeting of FAIR - Future AI Research

The NRRP extended partnership on Artificial Intelligence is underway

With a kick-off meeting held on 9 and 10 March in Pisa, FAIR (Future AI Research), an extended partnership on Artificial Intelligence funded by the Ministry of University and Research under the NRRP with 114.5 million euros, has officially started.

The goal is to address the challenges of research to achieve human-centred, sustainable, safe, inclusive and reliable artificial intelligence.

Coordinated by the National Research Council (CNR), the partnership constitutes a research network spread throughout the country which brings together 25 private and institutional partners, including Politecnico di Milano, and involves 350 researchers, 150 fixed-term research assistants and 100 PhD students.

The FAIR partnership is based on the ‘Hub & Spoke’ model: the Hub is a participatory foundation based in Pisa in the Research Area of the CNR, whereas the ten Spokes are geographically distributed in the various Italian regions. Politecnico di Milano plays the role of coordinator of Spoke 4 - Adaptive AI, to which Università Bocconi is affiliated.
