Matteo Maestri TUM Ambassador

The award presented during a ceremony in Munich

Matteo Maestri, Full Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano at the Department of Energy, has been appointed "TUM Ambassador" by the Rector of the Technische Universität München (TUM).

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, TUM Ambassadors 2020, 2021 and 2022 were guests at TUM and were honored by TUM President Thomas F. Hofmann on the stage of the Isarphilharmonie.

The honorary title was awarded to highly renowned international scientists, after a highly selective process, by the President, Prof. Thomas Hofmann, among the international professors who have spent a research stay in Munich collaborating significantly with colleagues at the TUM. With the TUM Ambassador, TUM honors every year its most distinguished international guest researchers that have contributed profoundly to the culture of the institution as well as have enriched the top-level research and scientific exchange.

As the motivation for the award states: “Matteo Maestri impressively links molecular-chemical and macroscopic-engineering research on catalysis and is a unique communicator between both communities”.
