Physical signals can be full of information which are understable only after the extraction of parameters. This is common practice to perform, for example, in Data-driven Condition Monitoring: through the application of signal processing techniques, features are extracted from raw signals to identify the health state of a physical asset. Besides, the extracted features are way more practical inputs for Data mining techniques.

The invention proposed is an Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) dedicated to the sampling of raw signals from sensors and the extrapolation of features from such signals.
