Giuseppe Bertuccio wins RTSD Scientist Award 2019

Professor of Electronics recognised for contribution to development of room-temperature semiconductor detectors

Giuseppe Bertuccio, Professor of Electronics in the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, has won the RTSD Scientist Award 2019.

The international prize is awarded by the Scientific Advisory Board of the International Symposium of Room- Temperature Semiconductor Detectors to people who, over the course of their career, have made a significant contribution to the development of room-temperature semiconductor detectors and associated electronics.

Prof. Bertuccio received the recognition after 32 years of research work at the Politecnico di Milano. The teaching of Prof. Emilio Gatti, his mentor and teacher, played a key role in his research work.

The award will be presented during the RTSD Conference, which in 2019 will take place at the end of October alongside the IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference in Manchester, UK.
