Professor and delegate to research at Politecnico, one of the leaders shaping the future of AI for business
Professor Donatella Sciuto, Rector's delegate to research and professor in computer engineering at Politecnico di Milano, has been recognized amongst the "IBM Women Leaders in AI".
As part of its annual Women Leaders in AI program, IBM honoured forty innovative female business leaders from eighteen countries who are using IBM Watson to help drive transformation, growth, and innovation across a wide variety of industries.
Provide 45,000 students with a better experience of the campus: that was the result of the Concierge project, headed by Prof. Sciuto, which helped students navigate through the large amount of information available. Through a simple entry point, available 24/7, Concierge gives students answers to questions phrased in natural language. The system has delivered more than 300,000 answers to date.
Celebrating diverse talent in the field of AI and creating a culture of inclusion are important as the adverse impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on women in the workplace becomes more apparent. IBM created the annual Women Leaders in AI program in 2019 to help encourage increased diverse participation in the field and provide honourees a network for shared learning.
