Prerequisites

MSc students from the School of Design, the following skills are required:
- Skills in product design.- Knowledge of fashion products and materials is preferred. - Knowledge of visual merchandising is preferred.- 3D modeling applications (e.g., Rhinoceros, Solidworks, PTC Creo, Inventor, or similar).- Rendering applications (e.g., Keyshot, V-ray, Twinmotion, or similar).- Proficiency in the English language

Selection Criteria
1) First selection phase: CV, portfolio, and cover letter, before 20/01/2023.2) Second selection phase: the candidates who passed the first selection will be evaluated in an oral interview from 23/01/2023 to 27/01/2023.If you are selected, you will be invited to the launch of the project, tentatively planned for 03/02/2023.

Description of the initiative

Initiative Description The initiative intends to challenge participants' ability to develop original concepts and experiences for Valextra's Retail Free standing boutiques and Department Stores. Young designers are requested to create innovative and sustainable solutions that allow Valextra's Collections and Creations to be displayed to their greatest advantage in accordance with specific guidelines and brief.
Initiative Scope  To design a set of Visual Merchandising tools with a range of functionalities that enhance the Merchandising display with the following goals:- Increase the product visibility- Increase the display capacity- Engage and trigger the clients to discover the collection- Enhance Client experience- Functional for specific products- Timeless or Adjustable- Increase conversion rate and sales- Easily adaptable to any collection - Easily fit with all the store concepts at a worldwide level The outputs of the project will be product concept generation and development, consisting of presentations of design proposals based on the scenarios identified in consultation with the company, accompanied by pre-industrial level graphics, sketches, renderings, 3D models, and technical drawings, with the pre-industrial assessment of processes and costs.
Prizes Valextra may select from the submitted proposals: the selected project participants will be awarded a prize by the Design System of the Politecnico di Milano.Valextra is also committed to hosting the selected participants for a period of Curricular Internship, during which the participants will proceed with developing the concepts outlined during the workshop.
