Description of the initiative

Enea promotes, in collaboration with IUAV and Politecnico di Milano, the exhibition "Soft Sculptures. Three-dimensional tales for energy sustainability", for the design of paper sculptures representing concepts capable of using the contemporary in an energetic key.
The sculptures will form a representative collection of virtuous gestures for the energy transition.
In this way, a manifesto-collection of "fragile sculptures" will be created, which will become part of the ENEA training and information campaign "Italy in Class A" - D.E.sign project - and will be exhibited in an itinerant exhibition on the occasion of important design events starting from September 2022.
With this initiative we intend to enhance the role of design in order to promote and raise awareness of a new model of individual responsibility, but also collective, in response to the environmental emergency that is marking our time.
In detail:
Each sculpture must three-dimensionally translate a concept or behavior considered by the student to be significant in order to foster a culture of energy sustainability.
These concepts-behaviors can recall daily habits and rituals, relating both to the domestic and urban fields. They can have an individual or community value, concrete (working on common actions and gestures) or abstract (working on the symbolic effect of the gesture itself).
The sculptures must be made of paper, with the only technique of folding and cutting, so that they are themselves representative of a sustainable approach: cheap, apparently "fragile", delicate, easily replicable with open source instructions, they intend to act as vehicle for the dissemination of positive behavioral models.
