Description of the initiative
At first glance mathematics and music appear to be two fields too different to have anything in common. However, mathematicians (and physicists) have always tried to find an explanation for the hidden aesthetic in musical phrases and, in the same way, musicians have more or less consciously taken mathematical notions and models as a further source of compositional inspiration. During the course, various "contamination" between the two areas will be presented.

Short description of the course:
The course deals with the description of the overlaps between mathematical concepts and music compositions, ranging from how mathematics explains the music harmonics up to how the greatest composer Bach was able to create music pieces based on strict mathematic rules.
