Description of the initiative

In 2022 the Langhe Monferrato Roero area will host the Global Conference on Wine Tourism, the most important world forum dedicated to wine tourism. The event, organized by UNWTO, the United Nations agency responsible for tourism, is certainly an opportunity for exceptional visibility, with the spotlight on the hills of Langhe Monferrato Roero. The whole territory will be involved in a year of widespread wine-themed events to create attention on the destination. Some activities will be part of already rooted and structured events to strengthen their international significance; others will be organized ad hoc in the course of2022.
OBJECTIVES
The research aims to achieve the following objectives:
¿ Data collection and analysis on the context under study and on emerging trends, national and international, relating in particular to the food and wine sector and in general to that of tourist accommodation, to mapping and identifying insights and opportunities for the future;
¿ Understanding of user-profiles, their behaviors, and their experience as "wine tourists";
¿ Construction of an "identikit of the wine tourist" and drafting of a "protocol" relating to the reception in the wineries (with particular reference to the Design Wineries), transforming the results of the research into Strategic Scenarios (high-level), which will provide new perspectives for the Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourist Board.
APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY
The strategic design approach allows you to plan and define project steps, specific activities and related objectives. All research activities aim to collect primary and secondary data using different methods (desk research, case study, field visit, social network analysis), which will then be analyzed and interpreted to define problems, opportunities and possible solutions and experiences for the wine sector.
The activity will expect the active participation of students, both physically in presence during the field research and remotely carrying out desk reserarch and analysis activities (in team)
