Honorary Master of Science Degree to Gilda Bojardi

For her contribution in giving Design a central role in the promotion and innovation of Italy

The Politecnico di Milano has conferred upon Gilda Bojardi a Laurea magistrale ad honorem (Honorary Master of Science Degree) in Interior and Spatial Design. Since 1994, Bojardi has been directing the magazine Interni and all publications in the Sistema Interni. In 1990 she was the creator of the Fuori Salone event, the famous Design Week of Milano which over the years has become the most important Design Week in terms of creativity, projects and performance at the international level.

In the reasons for the honorary degree conferred, Professor Francesco Scullica, Interior and Spatial Design Study Programme Board Coordinator, stated:

Gilda Bojardi has contributed to giving design a central role in the promotion and innovation of our country; she has also contributed to creating a virtuous dialogue between the cultured and experimental dimension of projects and that pragmatism that connects to the most significant roots of production, distribution and communication of Italian design in all its forms and aspects.

The ceremony opened with greetings from the Dean of the School of Design, Professor Francesco Zurlo, followed by the laudatio delivered by Professor Michele De Lucchi from the Design Department, and then by the lectio magistralis by Gilda Bojardi.
