YOOX NET-A-PORTER for The Prince’s Foundation

The collection designed by six students at the Politecnico

The collection ‘YOOX NET-A-PORTER for The Prince’s Foundation’ has been introduced. This is the fruit of the project ‘The Modern Artisan’ developed by YOOX NET-A-PORTER GROUP and The Prince’s Foundation, which has connected the School of Design at the Politecnico di Milano with the Textiles Training Centre at Dumfries House (Scotland), combining excellence in project design and technological innovation with the refined culture of Scottish artisanship.

The collection was designed by six students enrolled in the Fashion Design Studio at the Politecnico di Milano, who, upon the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci, were inspired by the relationship between art and science at the centre of the artist’s work.

The Modern Artisan project has supported Italian designers and British artisan apprentices along the path to release a luxury collection created by adopting advanced production techniques, from sewing to model design and quality control.

One of the cornerstones of the collection is sustainability, prioritizing natural, organic materials and fabric remainders and immediately discarding synthetic fibres. Only very high-quality cashmere, wool, and silk are used, guaranteeing garments that are very durable.
