1,000 Polimi alumni in Piazza Leonardo da Vinci
10, 20 and 30 year anniversary graduation celebrations and a look toward the Politecnico of the future
On Saturday 1 June over 1,000 Politecnico di Milano alumni from graduating classes 1989, 1999 and 2009 came together in Piazza Leonardo da Vinci to celebrate their 10th, 20th and 30th anniversaries since graduation.
The “Graduation Anniversary Reunion”, now in its fourth year, is a university initiative to celebrate key anniversaries for its alumni: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 years since graduation. It is an opportunity for them to look back on their hard but valuable journey at the Politecnico and to catch up with old friends and professors.
During the day, participants had the opportunity to return to the Politecnico with their loved ones and meet the alumni who day after day support university activities, dedicating time and money to important projects such as scholarships and building the new campus. The Rector and his team then described the changes and innovations at the university over the last few years and provided a glimpse of the Politecnico of the future.
The next alumni event will be the Convention, now in its eighth year, which will take place on 30 November at the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan. It is an annual event that brings together thousands of professionals involved in our country’s development and Made in Italy ambassadors across the world. Chaired by journalist and alumnus Maurizio Melis, the event will be an opportunity to examine the university’s role in a world where it is becoming increasingly important to educate young people to manage complexity.
