Politecnico once again among the top 20 universities in the world
A university of excellence for Engineering, Architecture and Design, according to QS Rankings by Subject 2020
QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020 confirms once again Politecnico di Milano among the top 20 universities in the world, in the category "Engineering & Technology".
We underline the excellent result in Architecture – where we get to 7th place from the already excellent 11th place of last year – and the exceptional 6th place in Design, constant since 2019.
A detailed analysis of the Engineering area let us notice that we are specially growing in Chemical Engineering (34th in the world, 44th in 2019), Electrical & Electronic Engineering (17th, as compared to 23rd in 2019), while Civil & Structural Engineering reconfirms its 7th place.
In Italy, Politecnico confirms its first place both in Engineering (in each sector considered by QS: Computer Science & Information Systems; Chemical Engineering; Civil & Structural Engineering; Electrical & Electronic Engineering; Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing Engineering) and in Architecture and Design.
Rector Ferruccio Resta states:
In these days when our country is being challenged by a global health emergency, at a time when its image is suffering international repercussions, this result serves to remember our worth. From here we must start again, from positive signals that allow us to reaffirm our capabilities, our credibility and our reputation on a large scale. Too often we are hearing of air routes to Italy being closed, of companies that are unable to deliver their products to the international market, of Italian students put in quarantine and of young foreigners who are afraid of coming to Italy. Let us leave no room for fear and distrust, let us remember who we are.
