Foreign students with a University qualification obtained in Italy - Laurea Magistrale application

The simultaneous enrolment in different Universities or different Higher Institutes of Education and on different degree programmes in the same School, both in Italy and abroad, is forbidden, with exception of cases explicitly stated by international cooperation agreements. In order to access to a Master of Science programme (Laurea Magistrale) at Politecnico di Milano, students with an Italian BSc degree title (Laurea Triennale) need to submit an online admission application.

ATTENTION: the application for admission to the master's degree must be re-submitted after the student has completed the assigned curricular integrations.

General information

Who can apply

You are entitled to submit the admission application if you have already obtained a Bachelor’s degree (“Laurea di primo livello“), a Bachelor’s degree achieved with the old education system (“Laurea del Vecchio Ordinamento”) or a university diploma; or you are currently enrolled at Politecnico di Milano or at another University and you have obtained 145 CFU.

Application

The application consists of an evaluation of the student’s previous career, carried out by an academic commission, based on: specific requirements verification (e.g. degree final mark, GPA, portfolio…), which may vary from programme to programme and are indicated in the relevant Teaching Regulations of each degree programme; possession of a valid English language certification recognized by the Politecnico di Milano, with an adequate score. The knowledge of the English language is a compulsory requirement for the access to every Master’s programme. If you fail to provide such certificate with a sufficient score and within the date indicated for registration, you will not be able to enrol.
If you are not in possession of the required English language certification or if you are waiting to obtain the result in addition to the application for admission to the MSc programs, we recommend that you submit an application to enroll in "single courses":
https://www.polimi.it/en/international-prospective-students/phd-and-continuing-education/single-courses/

When to apply

At the Politecnico di Milano is possible to start the Master’s programme during both first and second semester. For further information you can refer to Deadlines section.

Results of the admission request

The result of the evaluation may be:

  • positive, meaning that it is possible to enrol;
  • negative, meaning that it is not possible to enrol;
  • admitted to single courses in order to fulfill curricular integrations, the admission is subject to the acquisition, within the academic year, of the CFU related to the curricular integrations indicated by the commissions (therefore, the candidate must take additional exams before submitting the admission request)

Click on the magnifying glass to know the detail of the outcome of your assessment and proceed with the eventual enrollment or enrollment in single courses in the case of attribution of curricular integrations.
If the check is green it means that your question has been evaluated positively: you have been admitted and can register.
If the check is green but next to it you will find a red barred symbol (registration function not enabled) means that your question has been positively evaluated but there are no places available on the corresponding degree course and you cannot enroll.
If the check is of other colors you CANNOT proceed with the registration.
If you have been assigned curricular additions, you can only enroll in single courses to obtain the required additions, accepting the result of the admission application for the Master's degree.
