Description
Artificial intelligence technologies are now an integral part of the digital transition process affecting Italian public administrations. There are various areas in which innovative digital technologies, attributable to the "umbrella" term of artificial intelligence, are used and tested, in a more or less coordinated way, to improve the efficiency of public services and the functioning of administrative activities. The course addresses the issues of the notion of artificial intelligence and the technologies that may fall within it, the risks associated with the use of these technologies, the risk management tools and the legal obligations that will arise with the progressive entry into force of AI Act and the Italian legislation on the matter.
Educational project
The use of artificial intelligence technologies in the daily activities of administrations requires a high level of awareness on the part of the employees involved, who are called to know how the technology works, the opportunities that can arise from it and the already existing use cases, the applicable legislation (starting with the European Regulation dedicated to the matter – the so-called “AI Act”, EU Regulation 2024/1689). In this context, the proposed course aims to provide participants with the fundamental tools - both technical and legal - to understand the characteristics of artificial intelligence and its discipline, in particular in the context of public administration. The course therefore combines, with an interdisciplinary approach specific to the context of the Polytechnic of Milan, both legal training and technical-managerial training: both elements are necessary to respond to the challenges of innovation and the great technological transformations that characterize the digital transition of Public Administration
