The Politecnico welcomes international students
The Bovisa Engineering Campus hosted the second-term Welcome Week for international students from the 20th to the 23rd of February. As is customary, the Politecnico organised a variety of welcome events both for students that have enrolled on the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) programmes taught in English and for students participating in international exchange project and double degree programmes.
Studying abroad is unquestionably an experience that has a great impact on the life of young people, who find themselves – probably for the first time – alone in a completely new environment. Which is why Politecnico students, staff and professors did their very best once again to welcome the young people who have chosen us for a critical period of their development and make them feel at home.
The Welcome Week offered two days of presentations containing a wealth of information about how the courses of study work and the services our university has to offer. Students were guided through all of the various formalities such as obtaining health insurance and their residence permit. They had the chance to attend fun workshops to learn more about Italian culture and the best strategies for integration. They were also shown about initiatives for their free time such as those offered by Polimi Sport as well as the cultural and recreational activities of the International Exchange Erasmus Student Network. Finally, there was no shortage of moments of relaxation dedicated to socialising with new coursemates from every corner of the globe.
