Second place for the Polimi rowing team at the KIURR regatta

Excellent result at the Kunming International Universities Rowing Regatta held in Xi’An, China

The Politecnico di Milano rowing team took second place at the international Kunming International Universities Rowing Regatta (KIURR) in Xi'An (China).

After taking part in the semi-finals, which saw the Italian boat winning its regatta ahead of Cambridge, in the final race the Politecnico boat came second behind that of the Shanghai University.

Following a high pace start, with the Italian boat responding stroke by stroke from the outset, in the second 400 metres the Politecnico team slightly dropped behind the Chinese boat from Shanghai, which seized the initiative and stormed to the finishing line with the Politecnico di Milano crew still pushing hard behind it and cutting into its advantage.

A result that makes us particularly proud, ahead of such rowing legends as Oxford, Harvard and Cambridge. Congratulations, boys!
