Made in Polimi reopening

An exhibition space that shows Politecnico di Milano’s past, present and future

Made in Polimi is located in the Rector's Hall of the Milano Leonardo Campus. The exhibition space is constantly evolving and tells Politecnico’s past, present, and future through the stories of University engineers, architects, and designers - inventions and patents, objects, buildings and infrastructures. It is a human story, about discoveries arriving from long and patient research.

The project stems from the desire to enhance the University's historical heritage of technical and scientific culture. It describes the role of science today and suggest how it can continue in the future.

The exhibition is organised in two sections.

The first section tells the Politecnico di Milano story and shows objects, research, and inventions by Politecnico professors and students. Their works prove how Politecnico has contributed to scientific research, transcending academic and geographical boundaries. Stories and events are presented through original physical artefacts, videos, photographs, documents, and reproductions.

The second section focuses on the present and future that the Politecnico community is imagining and designing. This story takes place under an ideal sky, of fragments and objects, instruments and prototypes produced by the University’s research laboratories. Interviews with illustrious personalities from the worlds of culture, science and business accompany the visitor on a discovery of some iconic Politecnico objects.

The layout is designed to ensure flexible management of modules and materials. Content will be periodically updated and show new stories, personalities, and aspects of the Politecnico culture.
