Alessandro Fulle takes the prize for Yacht Design

Alessandro Fulle, a Master of Science's student in Naval and Nautical Design organised jointly by the Politecnico di Milano and the University of Genoa, has won 2023 Young Designer of the Year Award, the prestigious award organised every year by Boat International in collaboration with Oceanco.

The competition calls on young designers to imagine themselves as members of a small design studio working on a realistic request from a client. This year, contestants had to design a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly yacht for a fashion designer that could also serve as their workplace, with a design studio, atelier and a place for fashion shows. 

The judges praised in particular the design of the workshop and the plan for the fashion show movement from the dressing room to the stage, and described Fulle's design as fully meeting all the client’s requirements.

This award reaffirms the absolute excellence of the training delivered by the Politecnico di Milano in this sector, also confirmed by the fact that no fewer than four of the six finalists in the competition were graduates from the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) in Naval and Nautical Design or the Specializing Master in Yacht Design organised by Poli.Design, the post-graduate Design school at the Politecnico di Milano.
