The research line Computational Mechanics of Materials and Structures addresses a number of topics related to the mathematical modelling of the mechanical behaviour of a wide class of materials (concrete, steel, man-made and biological composites, …), oriented towards computer applications, as well as the development of algorithms for the structural analysis and assessment of structures and structural systems, ranging from microsystems to food containers and large dams. Experimental activities are carried out in order to validate mechanical models for materials and structures at various scales.
