Aeroservoelasticity, Flight Mechanics and Controls
This research line covers most of the technological areas dealing with the dynamic aspects of the vehicle. Specifically, it groups research activities into three main branches, which embrace the multi-field modelling aspects, the aeroservoelasticity and active structural control of systems, as well as the study of the vehicle dynamics and flight mechanics. All of these themes are developed in a highly multidisciplinary fashion through collaboration in teams. The work ranges from theoretical-methodological, with a substantial activity on the development of numerical methods and tools, to application oriented, both at the numerical-simulation level as well as at the experimental one. Work is conducted in the fixed and especially rotary wing technological areas, with several notable applications to non-aerospace related fields, with the collaboration of the national industry and the support of other public and private entities.
