Thermal and Hydraulic Machines

The research line is organized in two groups: 1 Internal combustion engines: the group activity is devoted to fundamental research on internal combustion engines, placing emphasis on the development and application of advanced 1D-multiD numerical models to predict the performances and emissions of modern engines 2 Fluid-dynamics of turbomachinery: the group activity is devoted to the analysis, measurement and modelling of complex 3D flows in turbomachines cascades, stages and components including blade cooling and unsteady phenomena. The group laboratory is probably the most important Italian one in the field of turbomachinery fluid dynamics.
