Combustion and Propulsion

The team operates in the field of combustion and aerospace propulsion, with experimental, theoretical and numerical activities. The research line is organized in two groups: 1 Combustion: the research activities are focused on the experimental investigation of the thermo-fluid dynamic phenomena relevant to the combustion process and the application of the latest diagnostic techniques, with the objective of providing reliable and detailed experimental data necessary for the validation of advanced CFD models. 2 Propulsion: the group has experience, equipments and instruments to perform experimental research in the field of condensed energetic materials combustion, with a primary attention to solid propellants combustion for space propulsion
