Measurements and Experimental Techniques
The research line Measurements and Experimental Techniques is carried out by the researchers of the Mechanical and Thermal Measurements (MTM) group which has its common background in the development and qualification of new measurements techniques as well as in the customisation and application of well-known measurement principles in innovative fields. The group has strongly changed his structure in the past years due to the modifications of the organization of the Department of Mechanics. The current leading researches started in the early 2000’s, sometimes strengthening research trends from the past, but in most cases introducing completely new fields, also relying on the young age of most of the researchers. Great impulse to the research is given by the international links which have been established and strengthened thanks to activities related to EU projects and common research topics developed with foreign Universities and Research Centres. The MTM research focuses are: - design, development, metrological characterisation of measurement systems and procedures; - implementation of innovative techniques in sound/vibrations, structural monitoring, vision, space and rehabilitation measurements.
