Research focus

The Peer review has evaluated this group as Excellent

The 19th century’s architectural culture is the main topic of our survey. It was a crucial century in the making of the modern architectural culture. Several reasons for this: the changes in the making of the architectural culture, the changes both on a professional round and building yard’s organization, the book industry’s relevance and the nternational cultural change both on a theorical and a practical ground. The research will focus on the debate (exhibitions, competitions, congress) and on the building of architectures. As a result of it, professional biographies (designers, artists, teachers, scholars, customers, technicians and politicians) and the changes both on a theorical and on a practical ground (new actors and roles within the Academies of Fine Arts and the Universities, public institutions) will be studied.
