The main research focuses, on the methodological side, on (a) Adaptive numerical methods and error control for PDEs (b) Numerical methods for advection-diffusion and Navier-Stokes (c) Mixed, hybrid and discontinuous finite elements for PDEs The main target applications are (A) Biomedicine (B) Environmental flows and hydrodynamics (C) Geophysics (D) Semiconductor devices and bio-nano electronics (E) Free surface flows and naval applications Part of the group mission is to cooperate on funded research projects with external partners (both public institutions and public companies) as well as with other research groups of Politecnico di Milano.
