SPIN_DESIGN brings together scientific competences and of applied research to the design of industrial products with a high technological and innovative content. Industrial design puts itself in this field as a mediator between the potentialities expressed by the scientific reality and the industrial one, widening the boundaries of design culture toward extreme areas that aim to increment comfort and habitability in environments and human condition not jet well explored. The resarch areas of in SPIN_DESIGN, Space and Extreme Environment, Prosthetic Objects, INnovation and Techno-Textile foresee spin-offs of competences and technologies between the three areas, that are strongly linked one to the other, and the extention of results in the widest product sectors. SPIN_DESIGN stands out for the study and design of dynamisms that favour and enhance innovation and know-how transfer in the production world, pointing out at the same time the representative, public and private, and in connection to the research world. The spin-off perform the role of primary importance to favour the connection between the manufacturing world and the research and in promoting the competitivness of entrepreneurial tissue. The approach in the research sub unit is characterised by a great trasversal multidisciplinarity in which the articulation of competences, acadaemic and industrial, allows to use scientific and technical tools on different levels and to deppen the specific issues related to each project inan organic and sensitive way.
