There are three main research focus: 1) Product Life Cycle Design (Product Environmental Requirements): basic research activities aiming at the elaboration, development and diffusion of the theory, methods, tools to design low environmental impact products; applied research aimed at consulting company on the integrating environmental requirements and tools in their design processes as well as low impact product development 2) System (or Product-service systems, PSS) design for eco-efficiency: basic research activities aiming at the development and diffusion of theory, methods, tools to design eco-efficient integrated system of products and services that together fulfil a given demand of satisfaction, and of the related stakeholders’ interaction; applied research aimed at consulting institutions and companies for the development of so called Sustainable Design Orienting systemSscenario 3) (System) design for social equity and cohesion: basic research activities aiming at the definition of a possible theoretical and practical view in which design has a role for a socio-ethical sustainability in emerging contexts and in relation with local-based and network-structured initiatives/enterprises. On these research focus there part of research activities are devoted to the improvement and diffusion of the topics within the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
