Purpose of that group is to study history of architecture, of design and fashion, history of museums in their relations with the history of ideas, general culture and taste, focusing on their connections and applications to practice design and museum practice. The permanent professors and researchers working in that group participate also to the organization and coordination of exhibitions on modern and contemporary architects, artists and designers. Another aspect their Peer Review - Department of Industrial Design, Arts, Communication and Fashion (INDACO) 51 research concerns the cataloguing activity in public and private museums, archives of documentation on architects and designers working together with curators and directors in this institutions: for example the Triennale of Milan, the CASVA, also in Milan (Center for advanced studies in visual arts) and others important museums in Italy and abroad. Since 2003, for example, a relationship with the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Musée du Louvre in Paris has permitted to collaborate in two important exhibitions on Leonardo da Vinci. That relation continues until now with a project of cataloguing of all Leonardo’s and his circle drawings kept in French public museums (Paris, Louvre; Paris Ecole des Beaux-Arts; Bayonne, Musée Bonnat; Rennes, Musée des Beaux-Arts) Some of the permanent researchers are also working in MIUR PRIN Research 2004-2006 D.Cult. Il design per la valorizzazione dei beni culturali (Design for Valorisation of Cultural Goods) (ref. founded research project: 1 on Research Group Strategic Design for Exploitation of Cultural Heritage ) and in another one focusing on the Baroque Villas and Gardens in Italy.
