Strategies, methods, processes and news form of communication for valorisation of cultural heritage. “City-system” design and territorial marketing. Relationship between culture, cultural heritage and industry, that could be successfully analyzed watching at the so called “cultural districts”. The main achievement of design for cultural heritage is to explore the design potentiality to build bridges between the two worlds, tutelage and valorisation of cultural heritage, as a tool to strengthen economies and enrich the quality of people's cultural experience. The rich deposit of culture and information is the (prime substance) raw material from which designers of our research area can draw inspiration and distinctiveness that can give a competitive edge. Collaborations and networks are encouraged in our research area to fertilize the design industry, performing new scenarios to build new kinds of business. Our approach design oriented aims to enhance local culture and heritage using creativity to reinterpret the existing reality. Our efforts are geared towards giving meanings to cultural heritage and places through the design of a coherent system of services, products and communication. All these actions help cultural heritage to become active part of an healthy economic system. This research group interests are focused on design strategies and methodologies for valorisation and enhancement of Cultural Heritage, goods and properties, in terms of promoting awareness and knowledge, enabling accessibility and fruition by people, developing innovative recording systems, improving transmission and revitalisation of such Heritage, by supplying user centred design services, technologies and products. This is addressed also to the integration of culture with social and economic local sustainable development, translating the territorial resources in cultural offer, Peer Review - Department of Industrial Design, Arts, Communication and Fashion (INDACO) 41 linking for instance tourism strategies with typical local production valorisation, generating enterprises, innovation and social cohesion. According with the main focus others more specific fields of research and interests are: - interpretation and communication of cultural patrimony like. Landscape, territory, the small, historical cities and others cultural goods; - management, organisation and promotion of cultural activities and exhibitions; - model of design process of valorisation; - contemporary definition of new cultural heritage; - intangible heritage valorisation (e.g.valorisation of the Italian folkloristic and popular patrimony through shapes of spectacular-sensory valorisation and the paradigms of the sostainabilty).
