The seminar (english) is part of the System Design for Sustainability course held by Prof. Carlo Vezzoli and it is open to any interested students, professors and researchers. Speakers from Unesco and Ingegneria senza Frontiere - Milano have been invited to intervene on the themes of renewable and distributed energy, cooperation and development and social enterprises in low-income and emerging contexts. The themes of the seminar integrate the activities of the two
following projects promoted/partnered by DIS - Design and Innovation for Sustainability:
- LeNSes (the Learning Network for Sustainable energy systems), EU funded (Edulink II program), is a multi-polar and open network for curricula and lifelong learning capacity development focused on locally-based, secure and cleaner energy services, based on the promising models of Product-Service Systems (PSS) and Distributedn Energy (DE), involving 3 Higher Education Institutions in Europe and 4 in Africa; to be coordinated by DIS of Politecnico di Milano. www.lens.polimi.it
- Sustainability Maker is an innovation and demonstration project, funded by the European LIFE Program, which will create an open innovation, crowd-sourcing, crowd-voting, crowd-funding platform and an online marketplace for Sustainable Solutions. www.sustainabilitymakers.org
