Visiting professors

In order to provide adequate support for the process of internationalisation, our University has set up a helpdesk for Visiting Professors/Researchers who are guests at the Politecnico di Milano.

The purpose of the helpdesk is to aid the administrative activity with regard to two fundamental aspects:

  • Fulfilment of legal requirements prior to entry into Italy
  • Assistance to Visiting Professors during their stay in Italy.

It will guarantee support for the procedures and for fulfilment of requirements related to all public bodies. The activities of the helpdesk prior to the arrival of the guest in Italy can be summed up as follows:

  • Collection of all the information related to the requirements to be fulfilled for entry into Italy of foreign teachers/researchers and post-doc scholars.
  • Collection of all the information related to the Visiting Professors by filling in the specific form.
  • Support for host Departments with regard to all the procedures to be fulfilled to obtain visas for non-EU citizens.
  • Help in seeking accommodation.
  • Collection of information at the Local Health Authority (ASL) on the procedures related to health care.
  • Interface between the Visiting Professor and the various offices of the Politecnico.

The Visiting Professors Welcome Office will then be available to the Visiting Professors during their stays in our University, for any information they may require on the services offered by the Politecnico, miscellaneous notions and information on the city.
