Politecnico di Milano's Professional Model

Alongside the traditional growth channels associated with career paths, Politecnico di Milano has added a development model that recognizes and promotes professional growth and accountability with specific focus on the ability of the individual to play a key role in the supervision of processes and ensuring that the University achieves its results and objectives (operational, service and economic).

This model encompasses the definition of the roles and skills required, the analysis and assessment of competencies and individual performance, as well as the basic elements of the staff incentive and recognition schemes.

Individual behaviours can become effective performance if they are combined with the organizational role in a consistent manner. Politecnico di Milano has designed an analysis methodology that makes it possible to:

  • Define organizational roles according changing contexts
  • Evaluate the combination of skills needed for the behaviours required by the role
  • Identify the necessary path to align individual competencies with organizational requirements.
