A team of students of Politecnico has been selected for the finals of the competition "Fly Your Ideas 2013" organized by Airbus, aimed at projects for the development of a more sustainable aviation.
618 teams from all over the world took part to the competition. Through two selections, 5 finalist teams have been identified, including the one from Politecnico. The other teams come from Australia, Brazil, India and Malaysia.
The Italian team is composed of two Spanish students (Robert Aroca Bosque and Adrián Gomariz Casado) and three Italians (Mattia Bucari, Andrea Castagnoli and the team leader Giorgio Enrico Bona), all students of Aeronautical Engineering. Their project titled Flybrid is related to an electric hybrid engine/turboprop intended for regional aircrafts.
The final competition will take place in June in Toulouse; the awards ceremony instead will be in Paris at the UNESCO headquarters.
