In 1998 the Politecnico di Milano obtained ACCREDIA accreditation, department calibrations, as LAT Laboratory No.104.

In particular, from 1998 to date ACCREDIA accreditation has been activated for the following measurements:

• acceleration
• low pressure
• force
• length (microscopics)
• water flow rate
• thermal power
• ionizing radiations
• temperature
• speed (speed traps)
• air speed (anemometers)

Since 2000, the Politecnico is ISO 9001 certified by Italcert, ACCREDIA Accredited Organization, for the following field of application "Multidisciplinary research, testing and consultancy (Sector EA 35)".

In 2003 the certification issued by Italcert was also extended to the "Training activities and special projects for university teaching in Architecture and Engineering (Sector EA 37)".
